Company Profile

Optimum Genetics is a Saskatchewan-based Genetics firm serving the livestock industry.

Since our inception Optimum has established itself as an industry leader, and provides services throughout North America.

Our primary focus is the collection and freezing of semen, embryos, and embryo transfer. We are pleased to announce that our CETA approved embryo transplant centre is now open, capable of housing upwards of 90 cattle. Our bull collection facility opened in February 2003 and is capable of housing 20 bulls. Each facility has its own laboratory and a dedicated staff to provide for the housed animals, and process the product. These facilities are jointly referred to as the Livestock Reproductive Development Centre. With our mobile lab, all of our services can be provided on-farm as well.

The majority of our clientele are in the beef cattle industry, but we also have extensive experience with elk and bison, and considerable experience with deer. In cooperation with an alliance partner we can provide services to the horse industry.

Our centre, near Regina (10 miles south), is a CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) approved semen and embryo collection and storage facility, with lab facilities to allow us in-house research opportunities. From this Centre we can export to most countries, and have exported to various locations worldwide.

The facilities are for "custom" collection only, and no operator-owned animals will be marketed through the centre. Optimum Genetics Ltd. markets only producer owned genetics. We will be offering our services as marketing agents to our clients. This will include the marketing of semen and embryos.

At Optimum Genetics we believe in providing the best-qualified staff we can find. The Veterinary personnel working with your livestock are contracted to ensure compliance with government and SVMA regulations. This assures “arms length” decisions by the vet(s) that are in your best interest.

Optimum contracts only Veterinarians trained and experienced in semen and embryos. We are proud to have contracted the services of Dr. Stan Bychawski. Dr. Bychawski is a Board Certified Theriogenologist.

We have made a commitment to provide the best in animal care, handling, and housing. We are working closely with a nutritionist to ensure top quality nutrition is available for your livestock during their stay at Optimum. Our herdsmen are experienced ranchers, some with experience in the fitting and showing of high-end livestock. Their talents allow us the ability to return cattle to their owners in prime condition.
